| Leoni was born and grew up in New York City. She studied anthropology and psychology at Sarah Lawrence College in Bronxville, New York, but left before graduating in order to travel. After a recurring role on the US soap opera Santa Barbara, she was cast in a remake of the television series Charlie's Angels, though the show never aired. She worked as a model and appeared in television commercials before achieving film roles. She produced and starred in the independent film There's No Fish Food in Heaven in 1998. |
