Leonidas

King of Sparta. He was killed in 480 BC while defending the pass of Thermopylae with 300 Spartans, 700 Thespians, and 400 Thebans against a huge Persian army.

Greek epigrammatist from Taranto. About 100 of his poems are included in the collection called the Greek Anthology.
