Letsie III (1964– )

King of Lesotho 1990–95 and from 1996. He succeeded his father, King Moshoeshoe II, as Crown Prince David Mohato Bereng Seeiso in 1990 when Moshoeshoe was deposed by the army. Letsie voluntarily abdicated in 1995 when his father was reinstated to the throne. Moshoeshoe was killed in a car accident in 1996 and Crown Prince David was chosen as his successor, ascending the throne for a second time.
