Leveson-Gower, Granville George (1815–1891)

English politician. He held several cabinet posts 1851–86, including that of foreign secretary 1870–74 and 1880–85 under Gladstone. He supported Gladstone's home rule policy and played a leading part in the decision to send General Gordon to Khartoum 1884. Earl 1846.
