Levine, Arthur E(lliot) (1948- )

US educator and academic administrator. His books include Reform of Undergraduate Education (1973), Why Innovation Fails (1980), and Shaping Higher Education's Future (1989). Levine was born in New York City. He was senior fellow at the Carnegie Council on Policy Studies in Higher Education, University of California, Berkeley (1975-80), senior fellow of the Carnegie Foundation (1980-82), president of Bradford College, Massachusetts (1982-89), and chair of the Institution of Education Management, Harvard University (1989).
