Levine, David (1926- )

US caricaturist. Considered, along with Al Hirschfeld, one of the USA's most influential caricaturists, he worked in pen and ink and watercolour, and produced revealing portraits of public figures.

Levine was born in New York City. He studied at the Hans Hofmann School in New York, and became best known as an illustrator for the New York Review of Books, New York Magazine and Esquire.
