Lichnowsky, Karl Max, Prince (1860–1928)

German diplomat. In 1912 he became ambassador to the UK. He was expelled.from the Prussian Upper House and fled to Switzerland after his distaste for German policy following the Sarajevo murders became known. His memoir, Meine Londoner Mission 1912–14 (1918), had been printed privately but was published without his consent.

He was born in Kreuzenort. His book was translated into English as Heading for the Abyss (1928).
