Licking County

Licking County

County in central Ohio; area 1,777 sq km/686 sq mi; population (1990) 128,300. It includes part of Buckeye Lake. Its capital is Newark, where there is diversified manufacturing. The county is primarily agricultural – chiefly grain, dairy, and livestock farming. There are sand and gravel pits.
