Liddesdale

Valley on the border between England and Scotland, northwest of the Cheviot Hills. It is traversed by Liddel Water, a union of small streams flowing southwest through Scottish Borders unitary authority, to join the River Esk 20 km/12 mi north of Carlisle. The massive 13th-century stronghold of Hermitage Castle stands to the north.
