Liebman, Joshua Loth (1907–1948)

US rabbi and author. Following his ordination at Hebrew Union College in Cincinnati, he became a lecturer there in Greek philosophy. He was rabbi of Temple Israel in Boston, Massachusetts, from 1939 until his death. An active Zionist and public speaker, he preached on the radio and served on many national government and religious groups. His 1946 book, Peace of Mind, was a best-seller. Liebman was born in Hamilton, Ohio. He entered college at age 13, and graduated from the University of Cincinnati at 19.
