Ligabue, Ilva (1932– )

Italian soprano. She studied in Milan and made her debut at La Scala, Milan in Wolf-Ferrari's I quattro rusteghi. She appeared at Glyndebourne 1958–61 as Alice Ford, Fiordiligi, and Donna Elvira and in 1961 sang Bellini's Beatrice at La Scala, Milan. The same year she sang Margherita in Boito's Mefistofele at the Lyric Theatre, Chicago and two years later she made her concert debut in New York debut. She has guested in Vienna, Dallas, and Buenos Aires.
