Ligget, Hunter (1857–1935)
| US general. He joined the army in 1879 and saw service in Cuba and the Philippines, later becoming president of the Army War College. He succeeded General Pershing as commander of the US Army in France in 1918 and conducted the successful campaign in the Argonne. |
