Liliencron, Detlev von (1844–1909)| German novelist and poet. His best work, published when he was almost 40, is his poetry Adjutantenritte, Gedichte, and Nebel und Sonne; he also wrote novels, including Der Macen 1889, Kriegsnovellen 1895, and a very popular humorous epic, Poggfred 1896. Liliencron is remarkable for his masterly use of language, which is one of the best examples of German Impressionism. |
