Limbaugh, Rush

US right-wing political commentator and broadcaster. His daily three-hour radio talk show The Rush Limbaugh Show, articulating popular sympathies, was launched 1988 and was by 1996 syndicated to 600 radio stations throughout the USA.

He has no guests on his show, doing all the talking himself. He stands for conservative views, believing in ‘less government’, and particularly likes to attack President Bill Clinton and Hillary Clinton.

Limbaugh was born in Cape Girardeau, Missouri. He first ran a talk show on KFBK radio in Sacramento, California, 1984. As well as broadcasting, he tours cities where his radio programme is heard, doing solo shows. His book The Way Things Ought to Be 1992 was a best-seller.
