LimpopoRiver in southeast Africa, rising in the Magaliesberg to the west of Pretoria in Gauteng Province, South Africa, and flowing through Mozambique and into the Mozambique Channel at Delagoa Bay; length 1,600 km/1,000 mi. It is also known as Crocodile River. The Limpopo flows in a semicircular course, forming the boundary between Northern Province, South Africa, Botswana, and Zimbabwe. It is navigable only for some 210 km/130 mi, below its confluence with the Olifants River, its main tributary, but its mouth is obstructed by sandbars. How to thank TFD for its existence?
