Lindblad, Otto Jonas (1809-1864)

Swedish composer. He learnt the organ while studying theology, which he afterwards abandoned in order to study music, mainly by himself, though he had a few lessons at Copenhagen. Having learnt the violin he joined a touring opera company and took part in a music festival at Hamburg. In 1841 he founded a students' choral society at Lund.
