Lindsay, Robert Bruce

Lindsay, Robert Bruce (1900–1985)

US physicist. A specialist in acoustics (particularly underwater sound), he was a prodigious writer of textbooks, encyclopedia articles, and historical and philosophical analyses of science. Lindsay was born in New Bedford, Massachusetts. He taught at Yale (1923–30) and Brown universities (1930–71).
