Lindsborg

City in central Kansas, on the Smoky Hill River, 31 km/19 mi southwest of Salina; population (1990) 3,100. It is a grain and livestock market, and the seat of Bethany College (1881), site of an annual Messiah Festival.

Established by Swedes in 1868, it retains some of its founders' traditions.
