Lingayen, Gulf of

Large gulf in the South China Sea, on the west coast of Luzon Island in the Philippines. The city of Dagupan and the port of Lingayen lie on its shores. Contained within the gulf is the tourist resort area of Hundred Islands, a group of more than 100 islands, the largest of which is Quezon. Oil deposits have been found in the gulf.
