Lisdoonvarna

Spa and holiday resort in County Clare, Republic of Ireland; population (2002) 900. It is situated 34 km/21 mi northwest of Ennis in the Burren region. Lisdoonvarna is a centre for traditional music and dancing.

The district has a complex system of limestone caves, popular with cavers.

The Lisdoonvarna spa waters come from sulphurous and iron springs; all contain iodine.

There is a matchmaking and traditional music festival held here annually.
