Lithia Springs

Community in northwestern Georgia, 23 km/14 mi northwest of central Atlanta; population (1990) 11,400. It is primarily residential.

It was a popular late-19th-century resort by the name of Salt Springs, and was an important site for the Chautauqua Institution (a summer school that developed into a system of popular education in the arts, sciences, and humanities).
