Little, Vera (1928– )

US mezzo-soprano. She made her debut at the New York City Opera in 1950, as Preziosilla. From 1951 she sang in Europe and was heard in Berlin in 1958 as Carmen. She sang at the Deutsche Oper, Berlin from 1959 and in 1965 created Begonia in Henze's Der junge Lord. The following year she created Beroe in The Bassarids at Salzburg. She has guested in Milan and Genoa and been heard in concert music by Bach and Mozart. She recorded the role of Gaea in Strauss's Daphne.
