Littleton| City and administrative headquarters of Arapahoe County, also in Douglas County, north-central Colorado, on the South Platte River, 16 km/10 mi south of Denver; population (2000) 40,300. It has been a research and development centre for the computer and aerospace industries since the arrival of the Martin Marietta Corporation in the 1950s. |
