Liu, Lucy Alexis (1968- )

US television and film actor. She is known for her exotic beauty and roles as strong, independent women. Her first major role was the beautiful, brash, selfish lawyer Ling Woo on the hit television series Ally McBeal (1998-2002). She displayed impressive martial arts skills and sex appeal as detective Alex Munday in the feature films Charlie's Angels (2000) and its sequel Charlie's Angels: Full Throttle (2003), based on the 1970s television series.

Her other major films include Play it to the Bone (1999), Shanghai Noon (2000), and US director Quentin Tarantino's Kill Bill: Vol. 1 (2003). She also appeared in Payback (1999), Molly (1999), and Chicago (2002).

She was born to Chinese immigrant parents in Queens, New York, and was educated at Stuyvesant High School. She graduated from the University of Michigan, where she received her BA in Asian languages and cultures and also studied acting, dance, and fine arts. After starring in Alice in Wonderland during her senior year, she moved to Los Angeles, California. Her first professional acting role was as a waitress in the hit US teen television series Beverly Hills 90210. She subsequently appeared on several other hit television series, including The X Files (1993), NYPD Blue (1993), and ER (1994).
