Livingston County

County in southeastern Michigan; area 1,487 sq km/574 sq mi; population (1990) 115,600. Its capital is Howell. An agricultural county, with manufacturing at Howell, it grows beans, potatoes, sugar beet, and grain; raises poultry and livestock; and makes dairy products. Many of its small lakes are resort areas.
