Village in Anglesey, northwest Wales, 24 km/15 mi east of Holyhead; full name Llanfairpwllgwyngyllgogerychwyrndrobwllllant ysiliogogogoch (St Mary's church in the hollow of the white hazel near the rapid whirlpool of St Tysillio's church, by the red cave), the longest place name in the UK; population (2001) 2,800.
