Llangollen

Llangollen

Town in Denbighshire, northeast Wales, on the River Dee, 15 km/9 mi southwest of Wrexham; population (2001) 3,900. It is a summer resort. The annual international musical eisteddfod (festival) is held here. The Vale of Llangollen includes places of historic interest, such as the ruins of Valle Crucis Abbey. Other local features include the Llangollen Canal and the scenic Llangollen Railway.
