Lloyd, John (lived 15th century)

Welsh sailor who carried on an illegal trade with Greenland and is claimed to have reached North America, sailing as far south as Maryland, in 1477 (15 years before the voyage of Columbus).

Lloyd (or Floyd), John (c. 1475–1523)

English composer. He sang at the funeral of Henry VIII's infant son Prince Henry in 1511 and was present at the Field of the Cloth of Gold in 1520.
