Lloyd, Jonathan (1948- )

English composer. He studied with Edwin Roxburgh 1965-69 at the Royal College of Music, London, and worked with Tristram Cary at the electronic studio there. Later he studied with Henri Pousseur and György Ligeti. He has worked as a street musician and was composer-in-residence at Dartington College 1978-79.

Cantique for small orchestra (1968), Fantasy for violin and orchestra (1980), viola concerto (1980), Rhapsody for cello and orchestra (1982), five symphonies (1983-89), Wa Wa Mozart for piano and orchestra (1991), There for guitar and strings (1991), Tolerance for orchestra (1993).

Everthing Returns for soprano and orchestra (1978), Toward the Whitening Dawn for chorus and chamber orchestra (1980), If I Could Turn You On for soprano and chamber orchestra (1981), Mass for six voices (1983), Revelation for eight voices (1990).
