Loder, Kate (Fanny) (1825–1904)

English pianist and composer. She wrote chamber music and an opera, L'elisir d'amore. She was a cousin of Edward Loder.

She studied at the Royal Academy of Music in London, where she later became professor of harmony. She made her first appearance in 1844, when she played Mendelssohn's G minor concerto. The first performance in England of Brahms's Requiem took place at her house on 7 July 1871, the accompaniment being played on the piano by herself and Cipriani Potter.
