Lodoïska

Opera by Luigi Cherubini (libretto by C F Fillette-Loraux), first produced at the Théâtre Feydau, Paris, France, on 18 July 1791. It tells how the evil Count Dourlinski imprisons Lodoïska in order to force her to agree to marry him. Count Floreski rescues her with the help of some Tatar warriors.

The opera of the same title by Rodolphe Kreutzer (libretto by J C B Dejaure) was first produced at the Comédie-Italienne, Paris, on 1 August 1791.
