Lohan, Lindsay (1986– )

US actor and pop singer. She won critical acclaim for her starring role as estranged twin sisters in the 1998 remake of The Parent Trap (1961). She followed with another remake, playing US actor Jamie Lee Curtis's teenage daughter in the 2003 version of Freaky Friday (1976). She launched her music career in 2002, and her debut single, ‘Ultimate’, popularized the soundtrack for Freaky Friday. Other films include the light teen comedy Confessions of a Teenage Drama Queen (2004) and the darker, more acclaimed comedy Mean Girls (2004).

She made her acting debut in 1996 on the TV soap opera Another World. Other television work includes the Disney television films Life Size (2000) and Get a Clue (2002) and the short-lived Bette Midler comedy series Bette (2000).

She was born in New York City. She began modeling for the Ford agency at the age of three, and for major fashion labels. Before adolescence she appeared in dozens of television commercials, including spots for big-name companies such as the Gap, Pizza Hut, and Jell-O, alongside Bill Cosby. She earned a Young Artist Award for Leading Actress for The Parent Trap.
