Lohman, Alison (1979– )

US actor. Her breakthrough role was as a troubled teenager opposite Michelle Pfeiffer in the drama White Oleander (2002). Critically acclaimed as a character actor with breadth unusual for her youth, she went on to star in several films in the early 2000s, including the Ridley Scott drama Matchstick Men (2003) opposite Nicolas Cage.

Other films include Tim Burton's adventure Big Fish (2003), the drama Where the Truth Lies (2005), and the comedy The Big White (2005).

She grew up in Palm Springs, California, and began acting on stage as a child. Her first professional role was in The Sound of Music at Palm Desert's McCallum Theater, and she went on to star in several productions for this theatre during her teens. She turned down an acting scholarship to the prestigious New York University's Tisch School of the Arts to pursue a film career in Hollywood in 1997. Her film debut was in the thriller The Thirteenth Floor (1999). She also appeared in the television series Safe Harbor (1999–2000), Tucker (2000), and Pasadena (2001) and the independent films Delivering Milo and Alex in Wonder (both 2001).
