Lombard, Carole (1908–1942)

US comedy film actor. A warm and witty actor, she starred in several comedies of the 1930s and early 1940s. They include Twentieth Century (1934), My Man Godfrey (1936), Nothing Sacred (1937), Mr and Mrs Smith (1941), and To Be or Not to Be (1942).

She was married to the actor Clark Gable from 1939 until her death in a plane crash.
