Lombardo

Family of Venetian sculptors and architects. Pietro Lombardo (1435–1515) was an architect who designed the Palazzo Vendramin in Venice (1500–1509), and produced many tombs for Venetian churches, often assisted by his son Tullio Lombardo (c. 1455–1532), notably the Mocenigo tomb in SS Giovanni e Paolo in 1481. Tullio also sculpted portrait reliefs. His brother Antonio (c. 1458–1516) worked for a time in Ferrara, where he produced mythological pieces for Alfonso I d'Este. All three worked in a classicizing style.
