Opera in one act by Paul Hindemith (libretto by Thornton Wilder), first produced in Mannheim, Germany, on 17 December 1961; it was first produced in English at the Juilliard School, New York, in 1963. Its subject is 90 Christmas dinners over the four generations of a family.
