look-and-feel

In computing, the general appearance of a user interface (usually a graphical user interface). The concept of look-and-feel was the subject of several court cases in the USA. Apple sued Microsoft on the basis that the look-and-feel of Microsoft Windows infringed its copyright. The case was decided principally in Microsoft's favour.
