Lopez, Jennifer Lynn (1970- )

US actor and pop singer. She began her career as a dancer, and went on to launch a successful film career. Her title role in the film Selena (1997) made her the highest paid Latino actress in history. Her debut pop album, On the 6 (1999), featuring the hit single ‘If You Had My Love’, was also extremely successful. Her second album, J Lo, was released in 2001, followed by Rebirth in 2005.

Lopez's first feature film was Mi Familia/My Family (1995). Her other films include Jack (1996), Anaconda (1997), Out of Sight (1998), The Cell (2000), The Wedding Planner (2001), Maid in Manhattan (2002), Gigli (2003), Jersey Girl (2004), and Shall We Dance? (2004).

She was born in the Bronx, New York, to Puerto Rican parents, and started singing and dancing lessons at the age of five. She joined the fly girls dance group of the Wayans' brothers hit comedy series In Living Color (1990-94) in 1990, moved to Los Angeles, and went on to dance in Janet Jackson videos.

She married actor and musician Marc Anthony (1969- ) in 2004.
