Loretteville

City in southern Québec, Canada, a modern suburb 11 km/7 mi northwest of Québec City, on the St Charles River; population (1991) 14,200.

It was settled in 1697 as Jeune-Lorette, when Hurons who had been living on a mission in L'Ancienne-Lorette relocated here. Wendake (Village des Hurons) survives on the east side of the modern city.
