Los Angeles Ballet

    0.14 sec.

Los Angeles Ballet

Ballet company founded in 2006 in Los Angeles, California. The repertoire has a traditional flavour with modern and local variations. The works of George Balanchine, for example The Four Temperaments, feature heavily.

Its debut performance was a new version of Tchaikovsky's The Nutcracker, choreographed by its artistic directors, the husband and wife team Thordal Christensen and Colleen Neary.

The company stages performances throughout the Los Angeles area, including venues such as Freud Playhouse at the University of California Los Angeles (UCLA) and the Irvine Barclay Theatre. Administrative offices are at the Malibu Performing Arts Centre.
