Loveland

City in Larimer County, north-central Colorado, 19 km/12 mi south of Fort Collins; population (1990) 37,350. It is a processing and marketing centre for the area's agricultural products. Among its manufactures are electronic instruments, steel, prefabricated and mobile homes, and furniture. Tourism is important to the economy, and the city is a gateway to the Rocky Mountain National Park (situated to the west).

Loveland was settled in 1858, incorporated as a town in 1877, and as a city in 1881.
