Loves Park

City in north-central Illinois, on the Rock River, a residential suburb immediately northeast of Rockford and 19 km/12 mi south of the Wisconsin border; population (1990) 15,500. It manufactures ready-mix concrete, machine tools, sheet metal, and potato crisps.

It was developed on the site of a local picnicking area in 1925. Rock Cut State Park is just to the northeast.
