Lower Merion

Township in southeastern Pennsylvania, just west of Philadelphia; population (1990) 58,000. Primarily an affluent residential suburb, it includes such communities as Ardmore, Bala-Cynwyd, part of Bryn Mawr, Haverford, Merion, Rosemont, and Penn Wynne.
