Lubango

Town in Angola, administrative capital of Huila province, 150 km/93 mi east of Namibe; population (2007 est) 103,300. The town lies on the Huila Plateau at a height of 1,760 m/5,774 ft. There are food industries, tanneries, and sawmills. The area has traditionally produced gold, and platinum was discovered in the 1960s. Lubango dates from 1885 when it was founded by settlers from the Madeira Islands.

Angola have built stadiums in Luanda, Benguela, Cabinda and Lubango for the 32-fixture tournament with the opening match and final to be played at the 50,000-seater in the capital.
At least Usd 14 million were spent in the construction of two modern fuel stations in the surroundings of Lubango city, Southern Huila province, by the State-owned oil firm, Sonangol, Angop learned.
It is being played in Benguela, Cabinda, Lubango and the capital Luanda.
