Lucas County

County in northwestern Ohio, bounded to the north by Michigan, to the northeast by Lake Erie, and to the southeast by the Maumee River; area 883 sq km/341 sq mi; population (1990) 462,400. Its capital is Toledo, which, with its suburbs, takes up a large part of the county. The city's economy is a primary factor in the county's economy. Agriculture includes corn, fruit, livestock, soybean, vegetable, and wheat farming.
