Luce, Henry Robinson (1898–1967)

US publisher, founder of Time, Inc, which publishes the weekly news magazine Time (from 1923), the business magazine Fortune (from 1930), the pictorial magazine Life (from 1936), and the sports magazine Sports Illustrated (from 1954). He married Clare Boothe Luce in 1935.

Born of missionary parents in Tengchow, China, Luce was educated at Yale and Oxford universities. Other publications of Time, Inc include House and Home, Architectural Forum, and Time-Life Books.
