Luchetti, Veriano (1939- )

Italian tenor. After study in Milan and Rome, he made his debut at Wexford as Alfredo, in 1965. He has made many appearances in Europe and the USA, singing in L'Africaine and Spontini's Agnes von Hohenstaufen at Florence (in 1971 and 1974); Foresto in Attila at La Scala, Milan (in 1975) and at the Vienna Staatoper (in 1988); Cherubini's Jason at Aix (in 1976); Rodolfo, Pinkerton, and Gabriele Adorno (with La Scala company) at the Royal Opera House, Covent Garden, London (1973-76); and Radames at Turin (in 1990). In 1976 he sang the Verdi Requiem at the Royal Opera House, Covent Garden.
