Lucy, St (281–304)
| Early Christian martyr. She was betrothed to a rich pagan, but he was angered by her refusal to marry him. He denounced her as a Christian to Paschasius, the governor of Syracuse, who had her beheaded. She is the patron saint of the blind. |
