Lycoming County

County in north-central Pennsylvania; area 3,204 sq km/1,237 sq mi; population (1990) 118,700. Its capital, largest city, and main industrial centre is Williamsport. It is the largest county in Pennsylvania and occupies a hilly and heavily forested part of the state.

The West Branch of the Susquehanna River flows through the southern part of the county.
