Lycopodium

Genus of plants in the club moss family Lycopodiaceae. They form dense green masses. The stag's-horn club moss L. clavatum grows in northern temperate regions, its spores are highly flammable and were formerly used in fireworks and theatrical lighting effects; the fir club moss Huperzia selago grows on moors and heaths.
